  • Lead the academic and procedural direction of your committee, shaping its vision, format, and in-session experience.
  • Collaborate with your Branch Coordinator to develop the committee theme, structure, and academic outline.
  • Oversee the creation of all core materials: background guides, mechanics, briefs, and arcs – ensuring clarity, rigour, and alignment with the Summit goals.
  • Manage and mentor your staff team (Vice Director, Moderators, Facilitators, Analysts, Crisis staff), fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Serve as the committee’s authority on content, offering guidance to both staff and delegates.
  • Engage delegates with professionalism and clarity, offering mentorship, answering questions, and maintaining an inclusive space.
  • In crisis committees, coordinate frontroom and backroom developments to drive cohesive and dynamic arcs.
  • Lead award deliberations and provide constructive feedback on delegate performance in collaboration with your team.

The UTSRI Advisory Committee is a consultative body that plays a vital role in guiding, mentoring, and supporting the organization’s growth.

Comprising professors, graduate students, and experienced senior undergraduates from diverse academic backgrounds, the committee offers strategic insight across key areas including research, financial planning, outreach, event logistics, and technology. Members may serve as mentors, judges, keynote speakers, or advisors, and help expand UTSRI’s academic network within and beyond the University of Toronto.
